10 Questions With Christmas

What’s better than an LP from a great band? An LP with four great bands with various takes on punk rock n’ roll and hardcore. We have Christmas, Haest, Bätwolf and Electric Frankenstein joining forces to bring you a stacked record. Ahead of the release of the ‘International Split LP’ next month we’ve sat down with Max from Christmas to ask him 10 vitally important questions.

TNS: Please introduce the band?

CHRISTMAS: We are Christmas and we sound best if we are played loud!

TNS: Which of your releases should people check out first and what track is your definitive song?

CHRISTIMAS: HOT NIGHTS IN SAINT VANDAL is currently our best record. PUSH FAST probably is my favourite song, because it’s about having a good time on a skateboard, that is what my life is about.

TNS: Which member of the band is guaranteed to make you late getting to the gig and why?

CHRISTIMAS: I, Max Motherfucker, take care that we are never late. I am old and I can kick asses really hard!

TNS: What is your favourite venue to play?

CHRISTIMAS: There are millions of venues I love. If I could play one very last show, then it should be at Sonic Ballroom in Cologne or at Wild At Heart in Berlin.

TNS: Tell us about something ridiculous that has happened to you whilst on the road.

CHRISTIMAS: There are millions of rad storys. A great moment was when we played at the french westcoast with Pizza Tramp. Almost noone showed up, five bands have been playing. After the first act we already have emptied all drinks backstage. That was a brilliant night. The next morning my leg was full of blood. Maybe one day someone can tell me what has happened.

TNS: What are the best and worst bits of being in an underground/DIY band?

CHRISTIMAS: Playing in a DIY band is an expensive hobby which comes with a lot of work. The good thing is, you are your own boss and noone can tell you what to do!

TNS: What up and coming bands should we all be checking out?

CHRISTIMAS: Blood Command has a new singer and now they released an amazing record! Another great band is Grindhouse from Australia. Sexy garage punk!

TNS: Any advice for emerging bands/bands just starting out?

CHRISTIMAS: Hit the road!

TNS: What’s next for you guys in the short term and the long term?

CHRISTIMAS: We are always on tour and always writing new music. So probably we will do exactly this for the next 10 years!

TNS: Finally, and most importantly, what is the biggest animal you could take down with your bare hands? Hypothetically, of course. We like animals. We often put them on T-shirts.

CHRISTIMAS: A pigeon.
