THE SEWER CATS TELL ME SOMETHING TRUE

The Sewer Cats return with their new single ‘Tell Me Something True’ – a wild, earworm-inducing banger!

Tell Me Something True’ builds on upon the repertoire of sounds that The Sewer Cats are known for, adding an undeniable break-neck country twang to their doom-blues infused garage punk sound.

Taking inspiration from all corners of the DIY punk scene, the band plunge into the first half of ‘Tell Me Something True’ with their trademark unhinged energy and, after a brief respite, explode once again with a dramatic grunge-esque, snarling finale.

Lyrically, the song reflects on life’s missed opportunities and the reality of relationships not always living up to expectations.

‘Tell Me Something True’ is the second single off The Sewer Cats’ upcoming album ‘Obnoxious’, set for release on 20th September. Pre-order now on vinyl and CD now.

The Sewer Cats New Album ‘Obnoxious’

‘Obnoxious’ is an uncompromisingly raucous assault on the senses that sees The Sewer Cats at their feral best. The new album is the band’s most sonically diverse work yet, showcasing their desire to push the boundaries of what a two piece can do.

“We wanted to make a record that leant in even harder to all the things that make us unique, and to not be afraid to push into territories that feel uncomfortable. Louder, harder, rawer, even unhinged at times – more obnoxious!” says frontperson Cass.

The Sewer Cats trademark fuzzy garage punk/riot grrrl sound digs deeper into doom-driven bluesy hardcore, whilst the duo also subvert a range of genres with a nod to grunge and post-rock, and even country.

Lyrically, The Sewer Cats return to their ‘hackles-up’ patriarchy-smashing roots, directing their scrappy scrutiny towards a range of sociopolitical themes in their tongue-in-cheek snarky fashion. ‘Obnoxious’ also sees more tender, emotional and melodic moments, ultimately serving as a love letter to DIY punk ethics.
