El Surf Ya Sentó for ALLDEEPENDS

Single cover for El Surf Ya Sentó by ALLDEEPENDS

ALLDEEPENDS have released ‘El Surf Ya Sentó’, the second single from their new album ‘NO SHALLOW ENDS’. ‘El Surf Ya Sentó’ is their very first song that they sing in Spanish. In the past we’ve had very emotional parts in songs where Hooligan screamed the Zapatista manifesto, but this will be the very first time it takes a melodic shape.

ALLDEEPENDS say the song “is about doing stuff going along with the different currents in your life and how in a moment of re-evaluation everything starts making sense or that you understand things in a different manner now that you can look back into what things mean from a new perspective!” They want to represent this with an abstract video also so we will be taking some video footage on the day of the exhibition and then put it in together after the fact!

Expanding on the event, ALLDEEPENDS say exhibition is something they had been talking about for a while. “We took this opportunity to display past artworks from each member in a way that it could represent a visual map of sorts, of how our individual work impacts the band. It isn’t as obvious as you do this therefore you play bass, it is more like you do this and I can see a correlation between the visual work and the audio. We have a new record coming out this September with TNS records, who are an Independent DIY label whose ethos aligns to ours, in many ways this exhibition is also inevitable about who we are as a band , meaning who we are as a DIY band in a DIY community.

El Surf Ya Sentó is taken from the album NO SHALLOW ENDS. The album is a clear marker of evolution of ALLDEEPENDS and their growth as artists. It tackles subjects more candidly and directly than ever before, techniques from different styles of music are used to elevate the song’s subject and grant them greater context. From gender & sexuality, atherogenic apocalypse, transgressive joy and introspective loss, a clear voice and perspective are made in an incredibly dense release. This is your new favorite punk-folk-hiphop-neo-oldtime-jazz-powerviolence post-everything album!
